We have adapted this quotation as the basis of our organization and focus of our titleholder. We can make a difference, even if in a small way. It is our directive to give young ladies in our region an opportunity to do something unique and memorable while introducing them to a wonderful charity that benefits from our time and efforts. The opportunity to participate in a pageant is a memorable experience for a young lady, and the opportunity to incorporate a charity flavour is a unique and fulfilling achievement.

The Miss Teen Ontario East Pageant is a charity-based, not-for-profit organization comprised of a group of VOLUNTEER directors. We are proud to be an official fund raising and Awareness event for the CANDLELIGHTERS.

Candlelighters is a not-for-profit volunteer organization that provides comfort and resources to young cancer patients being treated in Eastern Ontario and to those they depend on for strength and support.

The Candlelighters Mission is: "To enrich the lives of children and their families coping with childhood cancer. Promote awareness and understanding of the impact of childhood cancer on children and their families."

And their vision is: "That every child affected with childhood cancer and their family, enjoy the best quality of life possible, from the time of diagnosis, through to the completion of treatment and beyond."

We have chosen the Candlelighters as our focus charity and as such any proceeds from the pageant production will be forwarded to the CANDLELIGHTERS for use in our direct region. We are proud to be associated with this charity and eager to do whatever we can to promote the awareness of childhood cancer and the Candlelighters. It is our objective and the objective of our newly crowned titleholder to bring awareness to our focus charity and to participate in a variety of fund raising activities. Although the Candlelighters will the official Charity Platform for Miss Teen Ontario East, we are anxious to introduce our titleholder to the variety of charities within our region and assist them at many of their various events.

The Miss Teen Ontario East Pageant is excited to announce that Barrett-Palmer Models has joined our charity organization as a major prize sponsor.  The association with Barrett Palmer Models will not only give the delegate chosen as the regional titleholder a complete introductory modelling course but it will also give all delegates an opportunity to get some valuable tips on interview technique, personal makeup application and style tricks from one of the company representatives during pageant week.  This will be an interesting and exciting addition to our pageant weekend festivities.
